The Sonar Yen are the dark lords of Manchester's alternative scene, and this track is taken from their debut album, Slow Picture (Soviet Union) . ‘Decisions and Regrets' is a vitriolic slab of post-punk noise, and an illustration of the bands intense power and captivating sounds. Performance's joyous and upbeat electro-pop has had industry figures salivating over the last 12 months, and a deal is finally insight. Blending together Blondie with a punkier edge, ‘Lost Youth' is a laid-back and intoxicating listen, the band forgoing their angrier and vicious side much to our delight. | Known for their inspired live shows and massive sound, Lisa Brown are definitely not a female solo artist. They are an incredible band, full of youthful innocence, capable of conjuring up tracks that are steeped in blissful melodies. ‘Picture House' is their best moment to date, a downbeat track, rich in atmospherics and centred around luscious guitar parts. | This track first hit High Voltage's ears in December 2003, impressing us enough to win our demo of the month competition! The success that the band has achieved since then is quite astonishing, but won't have surprised anyone who's come across their bold, post-rock/punk-funk hybrid. The Longcut are one of the best new bands in the country, and we're privileged to be putting out their first ever release. |
