A follow-up to July’s storming Not Anymore single, Test The Water is the first fruits of album recording sessions with esteemed producer Damian Taylor (Bjork/Prodigy). A string of other high profile producers including Gareth Parton, Tom Rixton, Lewis O’Brien and John Fortis have also been enlisted, helping the band to emphasise their super-charged indie music.

Comprising of James Mulholland (guitar/vocals), Richard Ormerod (bass) and Michael Brown (drums), The KBC formed in Preston in 2004 after bonding over a diet of Motown, House and classic indie records. Having emerged from their home town with coach-loads of enthralled fans, the band have since established themselves across the UK and Europe, playing alongside The Strokes, The Paddingtons, Forward Russia, The Sunshine Underground and also performing at the Glastonbury festival and rammed club shows in Paris, Austria and Ibiza. They recently put out their first overseas release in Japan in the form of the Boxed Beats and Shelved Rhythms EP, which contains previously released singles, exclusive remixes and bonus DVD footage.

Full of dance floor filling grooves backed by an incessant drum beat, Test The Water is the most infectious KBC release to date; Mulholland’s distinctive vocals leading the band into a heady, almost-psychedelic dimension.

“ Compelling and consistently good tunes seem to just fall out of The KBC’s pockets.”
