redcarsgofaster are James Summers (vocals), David Pott-Negrine (guitar one), Matt Bolton (guitar two), Andrew Smith (bass), Phil Bolton (drums) and Megan Dean (keyboards). Formed in Leicester in the summer of 2004, they quickly built up a strong body of songs, whilst cultivating a live show that teetered on the chaotic brink between white noise glory and technical disaster.

Sounding like a heady concoction of Joy Division bass and Sonic Youth guitar squall set to a thunderous dance beat, redcars released a limited edition 7” entitled Sanctuary/Without Measure through High Voltage Sounds in July 2005. Selling out almost instantly, the single was met with a rapturous critical reception and featured on Radio 1, BBC 6 and Xfm through Zane Lowe, Steve Lamacq and John Kennedy respectively.

They unleash their new single Micro/I Am The Storm through High Voltage Sounds on 7 th August. Micro/I Am The Storm were recorded with acclaimed producer Alan Smyth (Long Blondes, 65daysofstatic), and marry post-rock atmospherics, sharp lyrics and brittle, Sonic Youth-influenced guitar riffs. With recent appearances on High Voltage Sounds’ Power Overload and Dance To The Radio’s What We All Want compilations behind them a big touring schedule pencilled in this summer, Micro/I Am The Storm looks set to be an important milestone in redcarsgofaster’s fledgling career.

"One of the most exciting bands to emerge in ages...their live shows already induce both mass singalongs and riots simultaneously' Drowned In Sound

“redcarsgofaster’s rug cutting dance moves and militaristic death disco far outweighed even the heavy-hearted gloom rock of Editors” The Fly
