Bureau are Theo Hutchcraft (vocals), Adam Anderson (guitar), Scott Forster (keyboard/guitar), Flick Ward (keyboards) and Jamie Alsop (drums). They formed when Theo, Adam and Scott met on a rain-swept, windy night in Manchester in December 2005 and the trio started writing songs almost immediately. It was quickly decided that a full band was needed to realise the songs vast potential, and so Flick and Jamie were recruited to the Bureau ranks in March 2006. The band made their live debut in May 2006 at Club Voltage @ The Music Box in Manchester, which attracted an already sizeable following who had been stunned by the group’s material blasting from their Myspace page.
They release their highly anticipated debut single After Midnight/Doll House through High Voltage Sounds on October 2nd 2006.
Influenced equally by electro/rock legends Gary Numan and Magazine and contemporary trend-setters Goldfrapp and Performance, Bureau are a forward-thinking group whose sights are planted firmly in classic pop music.
On the subject of the vibrant Manchester scene Bureau say; “Over the past two or three years the sun has begun to come out again and the shadow over the city is about to disappear. There is a select amount of amazing talent emerging and things are about to change.”
Manchester Music witnessed their debut live show in May and described them as a band that performs “Music to make you dance like nobody’s watching”.
Bureau play the following shows around the single release:
September 21st, Single launch at The Roadhouse, Manchester
