HIGH VOLTAGE SOUNDS |

Release: V/A - Full Charge High Voltage Sounds is to release it's second compilation CD entitled Full Charge on November 2006. Featuring the label's favourite new talent, the collection brings together 19 tracks from the brightest new artists in Manchester and beyond. Full Charge is the follow-up to last November's Power Overload compilation, which included tracks from Liam Frost, The Longcut, Keith, Polytechnic and Fear of Music. Full Charge opens with the up-front grooves of The KBC's Pride Before The Fall, before taking in the shimmering-pop of Snowfight in the City Centre's Listen. Highly accomplished debut tracks from new Manchester talents The Answering Machine and Bureau can be heard in the form of The Hold Up and the dance-flooring filling After Midnight, while the guitar-wielding 4ft Soldiers and The Jackpot build on solid local reputations with urgent, foot-stomping tracks Scars and Fickle. Dead Disco's sparkling The Treatment is the sound of three girls from Leeds adding their own lipstick to sped up Blondie riffs and melodies, while Manchester's The Search Map contribute their dreamy electronica with Pans National Complex and the very new indie-rock quartet Lucky Star commit their first recordings to date with Eyes To The Left. Other high-points include The Clerks' rare debut single The Dissidents, which is the sound of four French film lovers decamping to Manchester from Paris and making a load of New Order-inspired racket on their first night in town. The Whip's exclusive new track Dubsex backs up their reputation as Manchester's foremost club-talents; one that has seen the band bring the house down at many a venue throughout the city in the past year. Manchester's The Maple State and Leicester-based six piece redcarsgofaster up the ante with the full on It's Hot As Hell In Martirio and Micro respectively, while Stoke-on-Trent's Big Cash Prizes build on their excellent live reputation with Pisser, and Liverpool's Delta Fiasco bring some extra glamour to the party on The Actor. In between, Manchester electro-duo Modernaire strut through the teasing Faites Tes Jeux while The Headlines impress with The Long Process. Closing the compilation are Sheffield's Run Hide Survive with Together Again and the lo-fi home tape recordings of Manchester's Lone Lady on The Forest.
